Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Document Generator for Google Sheets ("the add-on", "we", "us", or "our") accesses, uses, stores, shares, transfers, and discloses user data when you use the add-on.

Data We Access

The add-on may access the following Google user data only when needed to provide its document generation features:

• Data in the active Google Sheet, including headers and row values used to fill template placeholders.
• The Google Docs template file you select, including its file name, file ID, URL, document content, and placeholders.
• The Google Drive output folder you select, including its folder name, folder ID, and URL.
• Generated Google Docs files created by the add-on from your selected template and sheet data.
• Basic spreadsheet metadata needed to run the add-on, such as spreadsheet name, sheet name, row count, and column count.

How We Use Data

We use Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing features that are visible in the add-on:

• Read sheet headers and row values so placeholders in your selected template can be replaced.
• Read the selected Google Docs template to identify and replace placeholders.
• Create generated Google Docs files in the output folder you choose.
• Write generated document URLs, generation status, and generated-at values back to the active sheet when you enable write-back.
• Validate that selected files and folders are compatible with the requested workflow.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, personalized ads, credit-worthiness, lending, selling to data brokers, training AI models, or creating unrelated databases.

Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

We do not sell, share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties. We do not disclose data to advertising platforms, data brokers, information resellers, or other third parties for marketing or analytics.

We may disclose information only if required to comply with applicable law, enforce legal rights, or respond to valid legal process. If this ever occurs, we limit disclosure to what is legally required.

Human Access

We do not allow humans to read your Google Sheet data, Google Docs template content, generated documents, or Drive file content through the add-on. If you contact support, do not send sensitive document or spreadsheet content unless it is necessary for your request.

Data Storage and Retention

The add-on runs in your Google environment and stores generated documents in the Google Drive folder you select. It writes generation results back to your Google Sheet only when you use that feature. We do not operate a separate server-side database for storing your Google Sheet rows, Google Docs template content, generated document content, or Drive files.

You control retention of generated documents and sheet write-back data in your own Google account. You can delete generated documents, remove generated URLs or status values from your sheet, revoke the add-on's access, or uninstall the add-on at any time.

Security

We request only the permissions needed for the add-on's features. Access to Drive files is limited by Google Picker selection and the add-on's OAuth permissions. Google handles authentication, authorization, encryption in transit, and storage security for Google Workspace data. We take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary access, retention, or disclosure of user data.

Google API Limited Use

Document Generator for Google Sheets' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how the add-on accesses, uses, stores, shares, transfers, or discloses Google user data, we will update this Privacy Policy and, when required, ask users to consent before using Google user data in a new way.
